All things of value are defenceless. — Thomas Pynchon
Did someone say America is a warrior nation? Surely they meant war-mongering nation. The last American warrior was probably crept up on and shot to death by a righteous born-yesterday Christian. The soldiers going to Iraq, Afghanistan and, if Bush and Palin have their way, Russia and Iran, are products of the ignorance of their homespun parents whose understanding of the world ends at their small-town city limits. Soldiers all over the world are going off to be killed in Iraq and Afghanistan to save George W. Bush’s craven face. They are today, as they have always been, gun fodder for the inbreds in power.
Conflict is on every horizon, international, national, local. The right wing values of racism, wilful ignorance and religion-inspired hatred are being touted with brazen militancy. Voices of sanity cannot possibly be heard over this atavistic recidivism.
The Mayans must have had an inkling of an event such as the eventual presidency of Sarah Palin, leader of the most powerful and profligate nation in history. No wonder they chose to end their 5200-year calendar — and human history — on 12 December 2012.
Wouldn’t you?

Glad to see things running at their familiar, frantic pace once again, Will.
Sarah Palin is a scary creature, something about that constant grin and those bulging eyes bothers me. I bet that grin drops quick once the cameras go away.
Thanks Ritchie. I just updated the About page after realising that my best intentions to write about other shit have apparently been left for dead. As for Sarah, the cameras go off and you could find yourself in a horror movie. You know, the mask peels back to reveal a writhing creationist with tentacles sprouting everywhere, each one holding an Ak 47.
